Dr. Amy L. Dean, D. O.

Dr. Amy DeanDr. Dean graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Michigan. She obtained her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, now A.T. Still University. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital in Detroit, MI and served as chief resident in Internal Medicine. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Holistic Medicine.

In 2004, Dr. Dean founded EcoLogical Internal Medicine in Ann Arbor, Michigan as a way to offer the best of holistic medicine and internal medicine to patients. She has developed effective natural treatment programs to help patients with complex health challenges and is dedicated to helping patients restore their health.

Dr. Dean’s work has been published in the Journal of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and she has presented research at the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) Annual Meeting as well as the International Symposium on Man and His Environment. In 2009, she co-authored the AAEM position paper on Genetically Modified Foods. She has been featured as a guest on National Public Radio and other venues discussing human health and the environment.

Dr. Dean is a member of the American Academy of Osteopathy, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, where she currently serves as a board member and is a past chair of the public relations committee, the American College for the Advancement of Medicine, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Cranial Academy.

Arden Wykes Stanton, B.A., M.S.

Dr ArdenArden Wykes Stanton, B.A., M.S. is a Holistic Nutrition Advisor working with Dr. Dean at EcoLogical Internal Medicine helping people understand the connection between inadequate nutrition, poor diet, environmental stressors, obesity and disease. Ms. Stanton is also a certified ILS music therapy professional using a specialized form of music and sound combined with gentle activities to support healing of many health conditions.

Ms. Stanton received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Michigan State University, her Master’s of Science in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health and her ILS music therapy certification from ILS in Denver, Colorado. She has been published in Nourish Your Kids Newsletter. While with EcoLogical Internal Medicine she has enjoyed using her two diverse degrees and certification synergistically educating, guiding and helping people understand the importance of working to regain, maintain and enjoy a longer and healthier lifestyle. She has successfully helped many patients regain their health using a variety of methods and programs.

Programs Ms. Stanton may work with you on include weight loss, diet assessment and advisement, and creating a customized rotation/elimination diet plan to optimize your health. She may work with you on environmental design and non-toxic improvements at home and work to help decrease your toxic load. She may provide a program of music and sound therapy, tailored to your special needs, which can help to improve and enhance mood, memory, focus, energy and even digestion. Ms. Stanton will work with you to help you achieve beneficial long lasting lifestyle changes. Together you will focus on setting realistic goals and developing strategies that lead to success.

Ms. Stanton believes that whether through knowledge and implementation of proper diet, weight loss management, meal planning, environmental improvements, or a tailored music therapy program you can achieve optimum health when given the proper tools.
