Heart Disease/Symptoms of Heart Disease
Heart disease/cardiovascular disease is the #1 cause of mortality in the United States. These diseases include angina, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, heart rhythm irregularities and risk factors such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes. Conventional medicine may be necessary. Standard treatment is usually drug therapy that blocks the body’s function in an attempt to control disease. This treatment can control symptoms of heart disease, and disease progression to some degree, but does not address what causes heart disease and often has side-effects that produce discomfort and disease.
Our Approach
At EcoLogical Internal Medicine, we search for what causes heart disease in you. Research indicates an irrefutable link between cardiovascular disease and pollution. By taking your environmental history, we can assess the impact of environmental toxins on your heart health. We also work with you to minimize the effects of pollution on your cardiovascular disease through Environmental Medicine. We use healthy diet plans and food sensitivity elimination to optimize your cardiovascular health. Vitamins and nutritional supplements are also prescribed and tailored to address your specific cardiovascular condition.
Osteopathic Medicine may be used to optimize blood flow throughout the body and oxygen and nutrient delivery to cardiovascular tissue. Meditation and breathing exercises are beneficial in lowering blood pressure and balancing the stress response of the body.
